Privacy policy
What this website keeps about you, why, and for how long. We keep as little as we can: your reflections never leave your browser.
Last updated: 30 October 2026
Who is responsible
The Advaita Deepananda Foundation, a not-for-profit company registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013 (CIN U94910UP2025NPL221859), runs this website and is responsible for your personal data. You can reach us through Contact us.
What stays in your browser
Your reflections and notes, your worksheet answers and scores, and settings such as night reading and the practice timer are saved only in your browser, on your device. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser’s data deletes them, so download your notes from the Notebook if you want to keep them.
What we keep on our server
You can read Days 1 and 2 without an account. When you sign in or enrol, we keep only:
- Your email address, when your account was created and when you last signed in.
- Your enrolment: the date, how you enrolled, and a short note the course team may add, such as how you paid.
- Your payments: the amount, date and status, and Razorpay’s order and payment references.
- Your progress: the days you mark complete and the last section you read, so you can continue on another device.
We do not ask for your name, phone number or address, and we have no passwords. We use no analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
Signing in
To sign you in we email you a 6-digit code. We store the code only in a scrambled form, and it works for 10 minutes. To stop misuse we also keep the internet (IP) address that asked for a code; codes and these addresses are deleted after 24 hours.
Cookies
We set one cookie, tlm_session, when you sign in. It keeps you signed in for 30 days, or until you sign out. We set no other cookies.
Payments
Payments are handled by Razorpay. You enter your card, UPI or bank details in Razorpay’s payment window, and they go to Razorpay, never to us. Razorpay’s payment window loads only when you choose to enrol. We give Razorpay your email address with the order, and Razorpay tells us whether the payment succeeded. What you give Razorpay is covered by Razorpay’s privacy policy.
Emails
We use your email address only to send you sign-in codes and, when you pay, a receipt. These emails are sent through an email delivery service, ZeptoMail by Zoho, which receives your email address and the message.
Who else sees your data
- The course team, who can see students’ email addresses, enrolments, payments and completed days, to enrol students and answer questions.
- The companies that run the services above for us: Razorpay, the email delivery service and our hosting provider, Hostinger, on a server in India.
We do not sell your data or share it with anyone else, unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Your account, enrolment and progress: while you have access to the course, which is for life, unless you ask us to delete them.
- Payment records: eight years, as Indian tax and accounting law requires.
- Backups: the server copies its database every night and keeps the last 14 copies, on the same server. Something deleted from the website stays in these backups until they are replaced.
- Our web server’s routine logs, which record the IP address, the page asked for and the browser, for security and fault-finding: 14 days.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, by writing to us through Contact us from the email address you use here. If we delete your account, you lose access to the paid course. We keep payment records for as long as the law requires.
Changes to this policy
If the website starts keeping anything else about you, we will update this page first. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
